It's About Kids has paid teacher opportunities at our Quito campus, Montebello Academy. A review of our website should tell you much of what you would need to know about how we do school.
When one considers our pay scale, any teaching position could still be considered a volunteer opportunity because our salaries won't be anything like what can be found in the US if one has a teaching credential. Though living in Ecuador is much less expensive than in the US (depending on housing--whether on-site, with a host family or independent arrangements) this is still missionary work. Our approach is to evaluate an application in the light of our need and then offer a salary that we believe will cover the needs of an applicant. The salary range will be between $500 and $1500 per month. We will also give teaching positions to non-credentialed applicants who can demonstrate that they are exceptional with children and flexible for learning our methodology.
We care more about a teacher's ability to engage the kids, master the material that they will be teaching and passionately embrace our vision, mission and methods than whether they have a teaching degree that may actually be an obstacle in adjusting to 21st-century methodology.
The one thing that can be said for certain about a teaching opportunity through It's About Kids in Ecuador is that it will be an adventure of pure joy and individual growth in becoming more a reflection of the image of Jesus.
